Who we are

What we collect

When you buy a guide, we collect:

• Name and email address, so we can send you the guide
• Payment information, processed by Stripe — we never see your card number
• Basic technical data (IP address, browser, pages visited), collected by our hosting provider Vercel in server logs for security and troubleshooting

If you contact us by email, we keep the message so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.

Why we collect it

To process your purchase and deliver the guide (this is the legal basis: performance of a contract). To keep the site secure and operational (legitimate interest). We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.

Who else sees it

Only the services that run the shop: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Vercel (hosting). Each has their own privacy terms and processes data on our behalf.

How long we keep it

Order records for seven years, as required by Norwegian bookkeeping law. Email conversations for three years or until you ask us to delete them. Server logs for 30 days.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask us at any time for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (where doing so doesn't conflict with our legal record-keeping duties). Email support@beforeyoubuyauto.com to make a request — we reply within 30 days.

You can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) at datatilsynet.no.
